TRENTON — Police Director Irv Bradley Jr. flat-out called four Bloods suspects “thugs” after they were arrested yesterday in the murder of 13-year-old Tamrah Leonard.

He said the drive-by shooting of the innocent girl at a block party on June 7 was “this senseless death” done in “one minute of stupidity” as the Sex Money Murder set of the Bloods street gang sought retaliation against the G-Shine set.

This followed an argument between the two at Maxine’s, a club on Warren Street, the night before, and the shooting outside of one of the SMM set members, police said.

Bradley wouldn’t name the suspected shooter of the seventh-grade Monument School girl or the driver.

But he vowed to continue the investigation “until we find out who gave who orders, and who is responsible.” He and Mercer Prosecutor Joe Bocchini and TPD Capt. Joe Juniak promised more arrests in the ongoing investigation. “There’s no doubt about it, that it was retaliation,” Bocchini said.

Nabbed yesterday overnight by city police with assistance from the U.S. Marshals’ NY/NJ Regional Task Force were Lamar Warren, 18, of Cuyler Avenue, and his brother, Keith Warren, 21, of Hoffman Avenue, along with a 17-year-old juvenile who will turn 18 in August. Bocchini said a request has already been made to the courts to have that juvenile tried as an adult.

All three were charged with murder (complicity), attempted murder, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. Keith Warren was also charged with tampering with evidence. The juvenile was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

The fourth suspect, Robert Humphrey, 21, had been arrested Wednesday at 12:54 a.m. in the 100 block of Walnut Avenue on unrelated drug offenses, but later was also charged on the two murder and two weapons charges.

Bocchini said his prosecutors were going to ask that the suspects be held on $1 million full cash bail, and said he’d be seeking maximum sentences for each.

Lamar Warren’s girlfriend told The Trentonian he was with her at the time that Tamrah was cut down by automatic gunfire from a passing carload of Bloods on that Sunday afternoon. And she revealed that Tamrah was also her cousin.

“Do you think I’m going to have a fugitive at my house who killed my cousin?” she asked.
